Ametsuchi is a workshop crearing Kutani pottery of a new style, run by Go and Miho Nakagawa. The pottery made by Ametsuchi is a direct representation of their kind-heartedness, and emanates compassion and calmness. The husband, Go, uses milled material and a blue glaze to depict his unconstrained concepts, and creates pottery pf tender color palettes. The wife, Miho, creates distinctive glazed enamels. Although the spouses’ creative styles differ slightly, they resonate the same kind-hearted glow when used together, and show the expansive world of Ametsuchi.

Masashi Hirano uses the traditional technique called Makayke (真焼け）(pure firing) instead of Yakishime（焼締め）or Shizennyu（自然釉）(natural ash glazing).

Mayake has a beautiful texture of a reflection of the fire frame, had started in the end of Edo period, and carried the technique by Toei kiln（陶栄窯）(specified to the important cultural assets) but since 1974, because of the lack of coal, the tradition keepers of Mayake has decreased. Masashi Hirano would like to pursuit the tradition using wood burning kiln without placing ash.

山田想 Sou Yamada Born in 1979 in Tokoname. His family has been making tea pots since Meiji period, and his grand father was the living national treasure. Sou has been making pots sonce 2002.

Yoshit Sasayama was born in Iga, Japan in 1953. He started learning Pottery in 1972 when he was businessman. He quit his job and became full time potter in 1986. He had his first solo exhibition in 1993. He has been having solo and group exhibitions since.
